Week 18.

So Wee Pea's bones are growing stronger, and she weighs almost half a pound now. WOW! She packs a punch too. Christmas Eve she got me good right in the diaphragm. It was very rude. Her little intestines are working, and she squirms a lot. The biggest thing is that she's putting on weight like a good little baby.

As am I. Four whole pounds. Woohoo!

As you've probably read, we had an ultrasound and will need to have another at week 30. If previa's still an issue, we'll have another at week 36. And if it's still there then, well, they might keep checking, but probl'y snippity-snip-snip.

I'm very hopeful that I'll be able to push this baby out like I did last time. Come on little placenta. MOVE!

Ultrasound Details, etc.

Yes we'd done the ultrasound thing before, but it was still very special to spend almost an hour watching our little baby (girl!) frolic about.

She was (is!) so amazing! Her perfect little spine. Her little feet and hands. She moves around pretty often, and proved no exception during the ultrasound. (Unlike her older brother, who acted virtually comatose.) Naturally, when the tech wanted to see if she was boy or girl, she promptly crossed her legs. What-EVER! There was no getting past the radiologist tho, who with one swift move of the 'mouse' uncovered the truth. It was wonderful watching her move around and squirm and be a happy little baby. I'm just dying for the coming months to pass so I can hold her and smoosh her and call her Snugglebutt!

Aside from meeting our daughter, we learned that we still have some placenta previa. I had to brow-beat the tech to get her to take notice of the placenta position. She blew me off about it, but did take the picture, and I was vindicated when the doctor came in and confirmed that the lower portion of the placenta is still laying across the cervix. It's just a partial covering, and it will very likely resolve before delivery time. We go back for another ultrasound at 30 weeks to check the progress there.

I also had blood drawn, and my weight taken. I've gained four pounds. Yay me!

It was a very nice afternoon. Healthy body, healthy baby and a little girl to call our own. We're tickled pink.

Butt kicker.

Today Wee Pea kicked Wilson in the butt! TWICE! It was so rude. Wilson and I were laying on the couch before daycare time, he on my chest and tummy drinking a bottle. His little rump rested on my belly-button. After a few minutes (and completely out of nowhere) little Wee Pea stuck out his/her foot and *thump thump* kicked him right in the tuckus. It was awesome. Wilson didn't notice of course, because Wee Pea's leg is about the size of a toothpick, but I sure did.

I'd like to say "bad baby" but I can't because it was pretty funny. :D

Christmas Ham

Last week we went to Wilson's first school Christmas pageant (no "Happy Holidays" at Fairview Christian School, thank you very much; in fact, the program was called "Jesus Loves You Snow Much" for reasons that were unclear from the event's content).

You're probabl
y wondering how a Baby Man who barely knows eight words--and three at any one time--was able to participate in a Christmas pageant; we were too. In fact, I suspect that curiosity was one of the main reasons for our attendance. But we dutifully dressed him up in a wintery sweater and took him over at 7PM.

As it turned out, the
y didn't really expect the one year olds to do much singing. They did herd (and I do mean herd) them all out to the stage and sat them on bleachers and sang a cute song to them. Some of the kids were crying and some were squirming, but Wilson sat still in his spot and smiled and clapped and waved at the people in the front row. What a ham!

Week 17.

Apparently Wee Pea is the size of a pomegranate. Which I believe, considering how active s/he is. Both Josh and I have felt him/her kick about, and s/he moves around consistently and actively throughout the day. It's really nice. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed and missed this feeling until I had it back again.

This is week 2 of a huge growth spurt. I am more hungry now than I've been before, which is good because I don't have to worry anymore about the fact I wasn't gaining weight. Wee Pea is building body fat now like a good little baby. And so is Mommy. Good Mommy.

Only 7.5 more days until we learn the sex.....

Call The Boys!!

So last night I had to call in the paramedics. It was nothing about the baby or Wilson, so take a deep breath; it was about me. This time, the dishwasher got me.

I was putting the dishes away, trying to be a good little homemaker, and as I put Wilson's high chair tray away on top of the cabinet, a big drop flew out and hit me straight in the eye.

It burned like the devil. It felt like someone stuck a lit cigar in my eye. (Dishwasher soap has lye in it, nasty stuff.) Happily Wilson was already asleep so I didn't have him biting my ankles and crying (he's teething several molars). After about 5 minutes of flushing my eye in the bathroom sink, I called my dad. Grampa Fire Chief to the rescue!

Poor guy. I woke him out of a dead sleep (it was 11:15) whimpering about dishwashers and high chair trays and rinse agents. He told me to keep doing what I was doing, and that if Josh wasn't going to be home from hockey within a few minutes (he wasn't) to "call The Boys". So I did.

It's funny the things that go through your mind in a situation like this. My eye burned like hell, but now I knew there were firefighters coming to my house. Firefighters are yummy. So now I'm worrying about not only my poor eye, but whether or not I still have makeup on the other eye, and maybe I should do my hair? Did I have time to whip up a batch of cookies and charm them with warm baked goods?

And then they were here, and I almost cried because the first guy in the door looked like an ugly Super Mario Brother. (Nooooo!) Luckily three very tall, good-looking men followed him. While none of them were necessarily worthy of the 2008 Washington State Firefighters Calendar, they were huge and manly and there to rescue me. *swoon*

However. They didn't have an eyewash kit with them, so you know what they did? Stuck my eyeball under the spray nozzle in the kitchen sink. They suddenly became much less good-looking. There I was, four months pregnant, in my pinecone pajama pants and Halo tee-shirt, sticking my round rump into three of their faces while the fourth hosed my eyeball down like it was catching afire. Hardly the rescue I had envisioned.

Once the crisis was over, my eyeball sufficiently rinsed and numb from the icy water bath, they noticed my Halo tee-shirt. I gathered that the rookie was being soundly beaten by one of the veterans in their matches. (He has three teenage sons; he cheats.) Ho-hum.

Anyway, crisis managed and all okay. Dr. Chris checked me out and said I will live. Word to the wise: don't put dishwasher soap in your eye. Unless you just can't come up with a better excuse to get The Boys to pay you a visit.

In other news...

...we may not have placenta previa after all?

Yeah, I know, we're confused too. The radiologist said we did, but her report to Dr. Chris didn't mention anything about it. It just said that there was a little blood clot where the placenta had attached to the uterine wall. Hmmmm. So, one more thing for the tech to investigate when we have the 2nd ultrasound on 12/26.

It'd be really nice if I could push this baby out instead of going under the knife. My poor tummy has enough scars already. (Although miraculously, still no stretch marks! I WILL wear a bikini again!!)

Boxing Day.

So our ultrasound has been scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, December 26th. I really did try to find something right before Christmas, but it wasn't going to work. I could have done something like today, but we didn't want to risk it being too early and not being able to see what we want to see!!

So, Boxing Day we shall (hopefully) learn whether it's a little girl or a little boy. Please check back here that evening to find out!

16 Weeks.

Wee pea is growing nicely. People don't even bother to ask me if I'm pregnant, they just assume, especially when I'm pushing the button for the cafeteria floor (over and over and over) saying "food food food!!!!" I've only had a tuna emergency once this week. A tuna emergency is when I absolutely positively must have a tuna salad sandwich, and the only place near my job that makes them is...Josh's job. So I have to haul my growing ass and belly to the south end of the city to get me some tuna. But oh, is it ever worth it.

Anyway, Wee Pea is growing nicely. I saw Dr. Chris yesterday, and we heard the heartbeat, which was pleasantly strong. I tried to get us an ultrasound before Christmas, but it just could not be done, so we're aiming for the week between Christmas and New Years. Still promise to keep you posted there.

Some other Wee Pea developments of late:

  • Patterning on his/her scalp has begun, although there's probably not much hair
  • Over the next three weeks s/he will double in size!
  • Toenails are present
  • Baby is about 4 inches long

In other interesting news, I not only haven't gained any weight, I've lost it. 8 pounds since the beginning of the pregnancy. I started out almost 20 pounds above my best body weight, so I had a little 'breathing room', shall we say. I assure you I am not dieting or doing anything stupid like that. Just eating sensibly, and not exercising (bad Mommy). My metabolism is speeding up, I guess. Do not worry; things will all even out as the pregnancy progresses and Dr. Chris is keeping an eye on things. (Anyone else remember how huge I got last time?)

Hello Again!

Gosh, it's been almost two weeks since we've written. Sorry about that. We got to fighting colds and finishing grad school apps, and the next thing you know we're 16 weeks along and it's almost Christmas. Updates to follow.

I must be really showing,

because several strangers asked me today how I was feeling and when the baby was due. Which is interesting. People didn't ask me these questions the first time until much later in my pregnancy. (People who knew I was pregnant did, but not strangers!) I figure my walk may have changed. Or perhaps I rub my belly. Josh says he would never in a million years say something to someone who's my current size, but he also said, very diplomatically, that the rest of me is "relatively lean", so it was likely a proportion thing. Good Josh. :D

It was actually really sweet having people notice and ask. It reminded me of always feeling welcomed and smiled upon the last time around. Everyone loves a pregnant person; they represent hope and joy and happy things...babies! Speaking of babies, we saw a little 2-month old at Josh's work today. Jacob. And he was really small and really cute and had that breathy little baby wail. It made me feel nostalgic for Wilson's early days, and thrilled for the days still ahead with little Wee Pea. Just six long months left to go.

Foodie

Wilson's new favorite food? Plain bread! Needless to say, this is extremely convenient and cost-effective for his mother and father.

14 Weeks (and 2nd Trimester!)

We successfully made it past the most risky portion of fetal development. Which is to say, I can finally drink coffee again, praise the Good Lord. How happy the nearby Starbucks will be to see me back and spending my husband's hard-earned dollars on ooey-gooey eggnog lattes!

I feel the little beastie move around sometimes. It's still just light flutters. I can't wait for the good stuff, when the baby beats me and I can beat it back! (BEAT THE BABY!) I am officially in maternity wear and out of not maternity wear. Depressed as that makes me, it is really fun that my belly-button gets places before I do, and have I mentioned yet this pregnancy how much I love having boobs? Boobs are wonderful. All the trials of pregnancy are worth the 9 months of fantastic rackness. (I shall not yet speak of the sadness that awaits me in my post-nursing days.)

Wee Pea's current status:
  • Lanugo, the downy hair keeping it warm until just before birth, starts appearing this week
  • Baby practices facial expressions and gestures
  • Wee Pea sucks his/her thumb (we saw it on the US!)
  • The liver begins producing bile
  • Our baby officially has a neck. Sweet.

My New Previa.

No, it's not the minivan. (Sadly.) I forgot to mention earlier that the radiologist determined that we have placenta previa, or a low-lying placenta. What does that mean? Well, it means that the baby's placenta is laying across the cervix. How much, we don't know yet. This is troublesome because the cervix is how babies get out! Hmmmm...

The good news is that most of the time, as the uterus grows, the placenta moves away from the cervix and higher up into the uterus. So it may not ever be an issue for us. But there's a 10% or so chance it could be an issue, and worst-case scenario, we have an early-delivery by c-section.

Those of you who've read along with us these past couple years know that a c-section isn't my idea of a dream delivery. However, I'm resolved to not worry about this until much later when it's apparent whether or not it is a serious problem. And if having a c-section is the best way for me to have a healthy baby, then okay. I guess I should be grateful that I have months to get used to the idea. :D

Don't you worry about it either. We'll keep you posted on this issue as we go along!

Bouncing Baby! (13 Weeks)

We had our first ultrasound on Monday morning (day 2 of Week 13). It was so fun! To start, NO, WE DO NOT KNOW THE BABY'S SEX. Sorry, that comes at week 18. BUT...we did see our little person bounce and jump like s/he was trampolining. It was so cute!

The tech did say that it looked like an already "cute" baby. I'm sure she says that to all the parents, but I like to think it means Wee Pea is proportional and healthy. And I'm serious when I said s/he bounced. The tech called it "galloping", but the baby pretty much jumped up and down and up and down. And up and down. The whole time. It was so fun to watch! Wilson was there, so he got to see his little sibling for the first time too.

So, 18 weeks is the week of Christmas. We hope to find out the sex that week, but holidays being what they are, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, we feel good about our bouncing baby!

Holy Cow!

Parenthood is wonderful because you can dress your kid in embarrassing costumes and totally get away with it. (Next year Wilson may catch on...sad.) As you can see, Wilson was a Holstein for Halloween. He only "trick-or-treat"ed on our one street, which mostly consisted of saying hi ("moo") to the neighbors while being tucked inside of Daddy's warm coat. Mommy, sadly, missed the occasion to study statistics and sprain her ankle. It was a memorable night for all.

He may be the cutest cow we've ever seen!

A complete Cow Album can be seen here.

Cheese!

Today I really felt like a parent.

Why? Because I had to get Wilson ready for his first school picture day. Nicole and I got to pick a lettered package of 8x10s and 3x5s and silly wallet pictures and the even sillier (and new, at least to people who are my age but not Nicole's) "Exchange" size, which is 1 inch by 1 1/2 inches or roughly the size of a postage stamp.

I dressed Little Man in his nicest clothes, or a least the nicest ones I could find in the dark in his room, which turned out to be the same type of shirt that everybody's early 70s school pictures--except for the turtleneck one, anyway--are in: Lots of thick fall-color horizontal stripes. I don't know if bebe couture has reached back to 1973 lately or if dressing little boys in horizontal stripes is one of life's constants but he looked nice and I don't think the other 1-year olds will make fun of him. He did have a collar on the shirt, which would've marked his as a baby square in '73 but which seem OK today.

I also felt like I had to find a comb (I don't keep one handy) for this special occasion. The problem is that it is somewhat difficult to control hair that has, to my knowledge, never been combed but the daycare ladies said they'd take a crack at it. And, happily, daycare girlfriend Madelyn had the same hairstyle. Kids these days. I blame Ashton Kutcher.

Now all that is left is for the annoying picture guy, no doubt ruing his decision to get into professional photography, calling kids funny-but-not-offensive names like "banana face" in an attempt to get them to smile. Then, allowing 4 to 6 weeks for handling, and we'll have our school pictures. Which will be the 12,006th picture of him, but still special in a way.

We'll post 'em when we get 'em.

12 Weeks Update.

Today I visited Dr. Chris, and got the 12-week check-up. All cylinders firing, baby growing, heartbeat strong (and fast!) We enjoyed witty banter about egg nog (which the Doc refers to as "mucus" and "slime" -- blasphemy!!), and finished the visit with a blood draw and urine deposit. Yeehaw.

Our 13-week ultrasound is next Monday. They'll measure the "nuchal translucency", a fancy phrase for predicting chromosomal abnormality (such as downs). We doubt they'll be able to tell us much more than that, since we'll head back for a second ultrasound around week 18. Sorry. No boy/girl news until then, most likely.

Surprising news: I lost three (3!) pounds since my last OB visit. I'm telling you, egg nog is superfood.

Wilson's Baptism.

On his first birthday, Wilson spent the morning at church cleansing his soul. How much cleansing does a one-year-old soul require? Well, not much. It was a happy affair, and we were very pleased to be joined for the occasion by three of Wilson's four sets of grandparents (notably Gigi and Grandude from Montana, shown here) and by his aunt Beth, cousin Alexis, and aunties Nellie and Katie (who drove all the way out from Pullman in a borrowed car to participate! WOW!) All together, we took up two pews.

I'm not really sure how baptisms work in other congregations (and I was just recently baptised myself, so it's all relatively new), but at Magnolia UCC the pastor drizzles water over the head. There was a lot of reading before and after that part, and some singing. Cathy (our pastor) even had the congregation, led by the choir, sing Wilson "Happy Birthday". I sobbed almost the entire time, which was painful for me, but some people told me afterward that it made the experience more meaningful for them. One woman said there wasn't a mom in the pews whose heart wasn't aching along with mine. That's cool, if my tears could enrich their Sunday experience, I'm glad for it.

We were reminded just how blessed we are by Wilson's sweet temperament during the affair. Like a very good baby, he was charming and sweet during the entire thing, even when Cathy took him from us and out into the congregation to interact with his "new family in Christ". He smiled and waved at everybody, and didn't seem to notice that Daddy and I were still stuck on the stage (poor Mommy in hiccups by then). Of course, after the baptism was over, he thought it would be fun to sing like the grown-ups, except he started singing during the sermon. So he had to leave, which was too bad because he was personally mentioned a few times in the message. (The speaking pastor, Tom, said he'd try his best not to make Wilson a "visual aid". Apparently he didn't try very hard.)

After church we visited with people and got to introduce our family around a little, which was nice. We're lucky that our church is small, so we know a lot of people, and everybody knows Wilson. We also received a gorgeous quilt as a gift from the church. We feel very loved and spoiled by those people. They are just so nice!

Combined with his birthday party in the afternoon, Sunday October 21, 2007 was a sparkling day for our family. Wilson's baptism really was the meaningful experience we hoped it would be, and we were so glad that so many of his family could be there to share in it and his birthday party.

Coming soon: Wilson's trick-or-treat!

12 Weeks.

O. My. God.

Where has the time gone? We're nearly done with the first trimester, and guess what peeps, I haven't even begun to think about thinking about what our life will become with a second little person in it. I am so behind in this thinking that I still regularly forget that I am pregnant. It's often someone asking me, "how are you feeling?" and me scrambling to recall if I was supposed to be sick or something that jogs my memory. And then I remember how none of my clothes fit anymore, and my throat is constantly on fire from the heartburn. And how I felt ill constantly for like two straight months. I must just be exhausted, because with all that's going on inside a'here, forgetting I'm pregnant should NOT happen.

Anyway, things seem to be going fine. My milk makers are nice and sore, and occasionally when I wake up in the mornings I'll feel rolling movement a la uterus. My pooch is very obvious now, although at this point I still look more fat than pregnant. I really look forward to, oh, the 20th week. Then all the proportions are what they should be.

Check out Wee Pea!
  • S/he is about 2.5 inches long (plum?)
  • Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly this week
  • If I prod, s/he moves around (although I can't always feel it)

Babies are Gross, Part 14

Today I had to scrape mashed carrots off of my windowsill.

One

Wilson had his first birthday and party on October 21st. Here's the report:

The event
took place after we returned home from his baptism (more on that later). Little Man had a house full of people here to see him and although he had recently had a bout of stomach flu--so no cake this year--he was cheerful and sociable.

His Montana grandparents came out for his part
y and they were joined by most of the Washington family and many of our friends. Aunt Katrina even drove all the way out from Pullman just to be with him on his big day. Wilson had a special surprise when his daycare teacher, Amy, and his daycare girlfriend, Madelyn, showed up. Ex-girlfriend Shay was very gracious and a scene was fortunately avoided.

Wilson enjo
yed his dinosaur party and had a bunch of fun playing with all of his cousins and other friends that came to see him. The house was pretty crowded but everyone found a spot and a good time was had by all.

Here are some pictures of the big da
y.

11 weeks.

Sunday was the first day of week 11. (We're getting caught up in weeks now, sorry about having 10 and 11 so close together, it'll be smoother in the future.) Mommy is feeling virtually nausea-free, which is lovely! We visited with a very pregnant friend of ours who is due to pop anytime, and it made us really excited for the coming months. Having already been pregnant before, this time we're all about getting to the baby part of things. :D

Some details for Week 11:
  • By the end of this week, Wee Pea will be the size of a fig
  • Fingers and toes have lost their webbing
  • Baby's kicking and somersaulting, but Mommy doesn't feel it yet
  • Baby's sense of smell begins to develop
Poll: do you like the pictures of fetuses in utero, or do they creep you out? Let us know.

10 Weeks.

So we began week 10 on Sunday October 29th. Here's a picture of what a 10-week old fetus looks like. The nausea is slowly slowing, which is a welcome relief, although I didn't have it nearly as rough as many pregnant women do, so I really shouldn't complain. (Oh, but it's fun!)

According to the literature, Wee Pea has grown his/her finger- and toenails and his/her eye color is being determined this week. All of its major body organs are present, now they just have to grow and develop. Apparently Wee Pea is able to "breathe" the amniotic fluid now, his or her eyelids are fusing closed for the next several weeks, and the ears are completely developed! Yay!

So he or she is about the size of a cherry. Is that bigger than a grape? Guess it depends on the cherry. Anyway, things seem to be going well, which we're thankful for, especially after my stairway tumble. It could have been so much worse; it sure makes you grateful (and a little more careful!!)

Don't Pregnant While Multitasking.

Ever seen a pregnant woman fall down a flight of stairs?

Me either, but I'm pretty sure that someone else has, and if it looked at all like it felt, that person got the laugh of a lifetime. (I should preface by saying that I am okay, baby's okay.)

Here's how it happened. I was leaving my Statistics class (which I'm passing, hooray for me!) by way of one of NSCC's big sweeping concrete staircases. I was on the cel phone with Josh asking how trick-or-treating and the cow costume played out, and just as I hung up I began soaring through space.

The hem of my skirt soared up past my right eye. My cel phone, blinking pinkness, whizzed past too. The green of my purse and the blue strap of my schoolbag flashed and bobbed and may have smacked me in the face. I eventually landed, on the edge of my left foot, and promptly on my ass. My cel phone, which I had apparently thrown straight into the air, came down and bounced neatly off the top of my head. The world stood still that one silent moment as I sat on my ass on my foot on the cold concrete staircase wondering "what in the name of God's Holy Trousers...?"

The bad news was my foot and ankle took all the impact. I missed a stair, which is why I fell. The good news was I had chosen to wear my practical Keen sandals, which are stout and formed of durable plastic and nylon. I would have done myself some pretty serious damage had I still been wearing my 2.5" wedges.

I managed to pull my skirt off my face and stagger upright. I didn't start crying until I called Josh to rescue me. I blubbered something about "stairs...ankle...flying". He graciously packed our exhausted cow-son into the car, deputized Uncle Mike for the mission and saved clumsy mommy from the big mean staircase. Because Josh is a saint, he didn't even laugh at me.

I'm pretty sure it's just a sprain. I can't walk except with the help of a cane (it's awesome, it has four feet!) and I can't drive at all, but I'm pretty sure nothing's broken.

The moral of the story, kids, is not to play with your cel phone while walking down stairs. At least not concrete ones. Better yet, don't do anything distracting while doing anything else. You never know when it will send you ass-over-teakettle, especially when you're suffering from Baby Brain.

Same, but Different

Some have asked how this pregnancy compares to the first. We're only 9.2 weeks in (we began week 10 on Sunday), but it has been different even this far. With Wilson, I didn't really get ill. I had a two-week stretch where I'd feel kinda icky in the evenings, but it was short-lived and uneventful. While this pregnancy has hardly been arduous, I have experienced several weeks of mild nausea, initially running all day long, and now, blessedly, just in the evening.

Otherwise things are going very well, and as expected. Well, except for the pooch thing. Damn. They aren't kidding when they tell you that you'll show earlier with later children. Seriously, I started showing the minute that pregnancy test turned "+". In my sixth week, I was in a wedding, and they had to take out the midsection of my dress to accommodate the pooch! SIX WEEKS! I had even done my ab work like a good little mommy.

Bad baby.

I'm sure other differences will manifest themselves as the weeks progress. This is, after all, an entirely different little person and my body is an entirely different place than it was the first time around (I'm still postpartum). We're very excited to learn more about him or her; only a few more weeks until our first ultrasound. We'll keep you posted!

Coming soon: Wilson's 1st Birthday Party.

Wilson's Vocabumtary.

Wilson is his mommy's son. Which is to say, he's a jabbermonkey. He loves to talktalktalk!

Wilson's Words (new additions marked by *):
Daddy (his current favorite)
Hi!*
Mama
Tdukka (still don't know what it means)
Kitty*
Doggie*
Bye-bye
Ah-dee! (translation: "all-d" or "all done")

We're still working on learning ball, hockey, bunny, shoe, hug, and nose. At this rate he'll have 'em down by next week, and be moving on to even bigger things...like onomatopoeia.

Wee Pea.

Meet the newest addition to our family: Wee Pea. He or she is 9 weeks strong, and amazingly, Mommy swears she's already felt him/her move about. (That or there is something very wrong with Mommy's digestive system. Which could happen.) We heard the heartbeat on Monday afternoon, which was a tremendous thrill. No matter how many times we've heard it before, each time that little 'powh-powh' sound comes through the doppler, our guts somersault.

Wee Pea is about the size of a grape. He/she has grown elbows, and his/her intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to the belly this week. The spine continues to straighten. Wee Pea is busy!

(Thanks to i-am-pregnant.com for the image.)

Welcome!

If you're here, it means that you've heard some good news from or about us recently. It's true! Come the first week of June we are expecting a new member of our little family.

Now that we have a new arrival (and because enough people were sorry to see the old blog go away), it's only right to get back into the baby blog business. We hope you like the new site; we're hoping that it makes it easier to access and to post entries, especially pictures. Old blog posts can still be accessed at itsbabies.mrack.com, of course.

One last thing: Before we get a bunch of hate mail from all the second-borns out there about first-borns elbowing their way into everyone else's show, this is a two-baby blog. So, there will be lots of stuff about Wilson here, too.

We hope you like our blog and look forward to your comments!
