Some have asked how this pregnancy compares to the first. We're only 9.2 weeks in (we began week 10 on Sunday), but it has been different even this far. With Wilson, I didn't really get ill. I had a two-week stretch where I'd feel kinda icky in the evenings, but it was short-lived and uneventful. While this pregnancy has hardly been arduous, I have experienced several weeks of mild nausea, initially running all day long, and now, blessedly, just in the evening.
Otherwise things are going very well, and as expected. Well, except for the pooch thing. Damn. They aren't kidding when they tell you that you'll show earlier with later children. Seriously, I started showing the minute that pregnancy test turned "+". In my sixth week, I was in a wedding, and they had to take out the midsection of my dress to accommodate the pooch! SIX WEEKS! I had even done my ab work like a good little mommy.
Bad baby.
I'm sure other differences will manifest themselves as the weeks progress. This is, after all, an entirely different little person and my body is an entirely different place than it was the first time around (I'm still postpartum). We're very excited to learn more about him or her; only a few more weeks until our first ultrasound. We'll keep you posted!
Coming soon: Wilson's 1st Birthday Party.

Wilson's Vocabumtary.
Wilson is his mommy's son. Which is to say, he's a jabbermonkey. He loves to talktalktalk!
Wilson's Words (new additions marked by *):
Daddy (his current favorite)
Hi!*
Mama
Tdukka (still don't know what it means)
Kitty*
Doggie*
Bye-bye
Ah-dee! (translation: "all-d" or "all done")
We're still working on learning ball, hockey, bunny, shoe, hug, and nose. At this rate he'll have 'em down by next week, and be moving on to even bigger things...like onomatopoeia.

Wee Pea.
Wee Pea is about the size of a grape. He/she has grown elbows, and his/her intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to the belly this week. The spine continues to straighten. Wee Pea is busy!

Welcome!
If you're here, it means that you've heard some good news from or about us recently. It's true! Come the first week of June we are expecting a new member of our little family.
Now that we have a new arrival (and because enough people were sorry to see the old blog go away), it's only right to get back into the baby blog business. We hope you like the new site; we're hoping that it makes it easier to access and to post entries, especially pictures. Old blog posts can still be accessed at itsbabies.mrack.com, of course.
One last thing: Before we get a bunch of hate mail from all the second-borns out there about first-borns elbowing their way into everyone else's show, this is a two-baby blog. So, there will be lots of stuff about Wilson here, too.
We hope you like our blog and look forward to your comments!
